Feet off the ground!
Contact & bands
What’s in a name? The Amsterdam Artist Collective is exactly what its name suggests: a rich collection of bands who all have their roots in Amsterdam. Our mission is to deliver great live music to festivals, venues or any other place with a stage. We believe in a do-it-yourself approach. That’s why we do our own bookings, our own management and our own promotion.
The Amsterdam Artist Collective is a creative cocktail of bands from Amsterdam with influences from all over the world. Amariszi, Kasba, Ot Azoj and Zorita provide world music festivals with a touch of pop and cover pop festivals with some exotic spicing. A band from the collective is the finishing touch for a great festival line-up.
Each artist has its own unique sound and could easily headline a big stage. Or simply book them together as ‘Vreemd Wild Festival’ and be sure of a perfect line-up to get some feet off the ground.
Our do-it-yourself mentality made an impression: World music trade fair WOMEX invited us to organize a conference session in Santiago de Compostela (2014) about DIY management and bookings. WOMEX invited us back to set up two official events at Budapest (2015): a network meeting for DIY musicians and a conference about touring in the Balkans. In 2016 we're hosting another network meeting at WOMEX. The collective also organizes workshops and has been in panels for Music Pitch, INjazz and World Blend Forum.

Amariszi blends the Balkan influence within their music in an inventive way – a refreshing mix of pop, reggae, folk and swing.
Kasba plays a mix of North African music and Western music and is one of the leading groups in the non-Western music in the Netherlands.
Nani
In 2016 we started an unique pop-up festival: Vreemd Wild (Wild World). 8 hours of non-stop live music performed on a single stage. Four energetic bands that fire up the audience and join forces in exciting musical crossovers. Amariszi, Zorita, Ot Azoj and Kasba play several short sets and bring a danceable mix of styles. Afrobeats and Balkan grooves, Mestizopop and Raï. There are no timetables, just non-stop live music.

Together with distributor Music & Words we launched our record label AAC records in March 2016. The label will be a home for the energetic records of the bands in our collective next to specially selected projects from artists we like.
In 2016 we released our first record, the album Dza Dza Dzum! by Ot Azoj. An event that took place in the OCCII, an abandoned horse tram garage, which was squatted in the ‘80s and now houses a legendary music venue in Amsterdam.
Andalusian brew. Bringing together warm and diverse musical blends from the Middle East, Jazz, North African beats and hypnotising vocals.
Ot Azoj explores new roots and old grooves from Molvania. In vivid compositions they bring to live this land of feast and mud.
Zorita
Zorita are a raucous rousing rabble. In their own words, the musicians of Zorita describe their well-oiled ragtag collection of instruments, styles and personalities as ‘Musica Vagabunda’.
